manic Monday

we would first like the thank whoever our viewers are
yesterday we had a PB of 193 views of this wordpress account!
… even if most of those were people clicking on the wrong page by accident, that makes us feel very happy indeed!

and now to the news!

as you may already know, we have our hearing @ Cardiff County Court tomorrow, 2pm onwards
this is to decide who has a right to possession of the building – us, the hard-working Gremlins, or them, the owners who let the building rot away to the dismal state it’s currently in

no prizes for guessing who we want to win
(although if we have a quiz night and an eviction resistance party there’ll be prizes galore!)

we really appreciate all the support we’ve already received from the local community who say they like the idea of the projects we have planned for the building formerly known as Spin Bowling
and if you’re interested in helping us stay alive, please check out our other pages on this wordpress
or follow us on twitter @GremlinAlley
or email us –

or if you’re feeling really brave and adventurous, come and visit us in our dark dark alley
(see how to find us for more details)

we’re not gonna lie to you, our lovely followers, the chances of us legally winning the right to keep the building are slim to none
but, in the wise words of a character from an Angela Carter novel – hope for the best, expect the worse
only we have zero expectations for anything (it makes most things a pleasant bonus) but we’re fully prepared for the worse, which is a fairly sensible way to be

and so we’ll end this post with hope
the hope that we’ll be able to continue the plans for our free-run community project to continue without the threat of eviction
and we have to warn you that we’re prepared for the worse case scenario
which, in short, is that we won’t be around much longer and there’ll be a huge resistance party in the not-too-distant future
i guess there really always is a bright side to everything
because binary opposites make the world go round …

About Gremlin Alley Social Centre

We are a newly squatted social centre in the heart of City Road, Cardiff, and we have hopes of turning the derelict, disused space of what was formerly known as 'Spin Bowling' into the flourishing heart of a newly-blosomed community. We have been resisting eviction since 4th October 2012.
